The PBJFC Parents Trivia Night & Silent Auction is officially locked in, and we’d love to see our parent, volunteer and committee community come together for a fantastic adults-only night out at Ruthven Reserve.

Friday 12 June, 2026
7pm – 10pm
Ruthven Reserve

Hosted by QuizzaMe, the night will include trivia, food, drinks, fundraising and plenty of laughs.

Tickets are just $25, with all funds raised going directly back to PBJFC.

You can book a single ticket and join a table on the night - or you can gather a whole crew (up to 10), and we will set up a table just for your team.

YJFL to introduce new rule changes in 2026

There are some new rules to be aware of in 2026

The Yarra Junior Football League will be adopting two new rule changes for the upcoming 2026 season. With the Australian Football League tinkering with new changes at the beginning of 2026, the YJFL will adopt two of the seven new rules into the league this coming season.

GOALSQUARE STARTING POSITION:
While the 6-6-6 rule will remain from centre ball-ups, there will no longer be a requirement for at least one player per team to start in the goal square.

LAST DISPOSAL A free kick will now be awarded when the ball crosses the boundary line from a disposal (kick or handball) ANYWHERE ON THE ENTIRE GROUND. If in doubt or off hand (non-disposal), the field umpire will throw the ball up approximately ten metres in from the boundary line.

The Yarra Junior Football League will not be adopting the following rule changes

Centre ball-up contests
Aligned kick-in times
Ruck nominations
Shrugging in the tackle
The stand rule

Key Dates for 2026

The YJFL season will kick off on April 19th in 2026, after the Easter Break.

Round 3 will be the AFL Victoria Sit Down Round.

Round 4 - we will look after our Mum's on Mother's Day!

May 17th and 24th will see the youngest stars of the Yarra Junior Football League take centre stage at Ford Park, with the Under 8 and Under 9's Round Robin days.

The Under 10 Lightning Premiership will happen in the final round of the YJFL season on August 9th in Round 14.

The YJFL will again showcase the league's brightest stars over the Kings Birthday long weekend with Interleague happening across a number of venues in the AFL Victoria Metropolitan Junior Development Series.

Grand Finals will again be split over two weekends, with the first taking place on August 30,

while the second and final day of the season will take place on Father's Day, on September 6.
