FAQ

  • Who can play at PBJFC?

We welcome all children in the local area. You don't need any prior football experience — we have age groups and programs for kids at every level, from complete beginners to those who've played before.

From U8 to U13 the teams are mixed, then they are split into boys and girls teams.

  • What age groups do you cater for?

We have teams across a range of junior age groups. From U8 -U13 Mixed Teams, U14 Girls all the way up to Youth Boys (U18).

  • Do kids need to have played football before?

Not at all! Many of our players are trying football for the first time. Our coaches are experienced in working with beginners and making sure every child feels welcome and included.

  • What does my child need to wear?

New players will need a club jumper, shorts and red socks, which can be purchased through the club.

They don't need special gear for training but we do sell training tops, singlets and shorts that some players like to wear (they can be customised with their name and number)

For boots, any football boots are fine to get started — don't feel like you need to rush out and buy anything special straight away.

    Mouthguards are essential.

You can get custom made mouthguards through club sponsor - the Mouthguard Man - or buy one from the chemist, Sportsmart etc.

  • Do parents / carers need to volunteer?

Yes! PBJFC is a volunteer-run club and we genuinely can't do it without our families.

There are roles to suit everyone — whether you'd like to take on something bigger like coaching, managing a team, or joining the committee, or prefer to help out on game day in roles like timekeeper, goal umpire, umpire escort, runner, or trainer. And someone very important needs to remember the oranges at halftime! Whatever time and skills you have to offer, we'd love to have you involved. Just let your team manager or a committee member know you're keen.
